Growing + Pains

February 10th, 2007 by geek_goddess

Hey everyone,

To all those who ordered shirts, thanks for the patience! We’ve been having problem after problem getting the shirts ready for delivery and we really appreciate how awesome you’ve all been through this. Once they’re ready, we’ll let you know and send them first class to your doorstep. Who knows, you might be a little surprised by what else you see in the box, because it’s not just going to be the shirts you ordered… THANKS AGAIN EVERYONE!

Up + Running

November 26th, 2006 by Damien

Running Man

Hey everyone, we’ve been really busy trying to get the winter glove launched in time…so the blog hasnt been updated in awhile…yes, we know, that sucks, but hang in there with us. We’ve gotten some emails from people asking things like “what happened? Are you guys (and gal) still alive???” Yes, we are alive. Just barely because of all these sleepless nights, but we’re still kickin’! It’s a good thing we have all those wonderful thoughts of Arnie to keep us laughing (and awake) at night…”Welcome to Arnie’s Pizzashop…you want mushroom? Shutup!”

That was random…

YouTube + Greatest video ever

September 24th, 2006 by Damien

Hey everyone, it’s been a while since this blog has been updated due to some problems we’ve been having with our Internet. Well, now that we’re back on, the Internet has showered us with its awesomeness! I found this video recently, and while I don’t know what they are saying, the little guy’s dancing is simply amazing. Especially the slow-motion part. Hahaha! I’m not quite sure if the little guy is a midget or a child, but either way this video brings back tender memories of my yester-years when I wanted to learn how to break dance. In fact, it probably crosses every guys mind at least once in his lifetime. I guess the robot will be the extent of break dancing repertoire

Steve Irwin + RIP

September 4th, 2006 by geek_goddess

RIP Steve

A lot of us here at Scimun love nature shows, and the discovery channel/TLC in general. This morning when I woke up, I went about my daily routine of reading Canada.com, and I was almost in tears when I read that Steve Irwin had passed away. A stingray off of the Great Barrier Reef killed him while he was filming a new documentary on dangerous marine animals. He was about 32 nautical miles offshore from Port Douglas in North Queensland, Australia, swimming above a large bull ray when it turned and stabbed him with its poisonous tail. Normally a stab from a stingray’s poisonous barb is not fatal, but this one got Steve in the chest and stabbed through his heart. If only he had been in a different position, he would still be alive today. Steve leaves behind his wife Terri, and his two kids, Bindi and Bob. RIP Steve, you will be missed.

Scimun + Double Century

September 1st, 2006 by Anh

In Niagara

That’s right, a double century. For those of you who might not know exactly what I’m talking about, I’m referring to riding a bike 200km. This past Wednesday, Hassan and I went out to push ourselves to the limit. Earlier this summer we had already gone to Toronto and back, which was about 80km, so we decided why not see how far we could really go. Our original goal was to ride to Niagara Falls, but due to time constraints we had to stop (We were just one city away so it really sucked). It was suppose to be a triple century, but I’ll settle for a double. Although it was a huge challenge, it was a ton of fun!
One more thing… Before we went, we posted a listing on craigslist asking riders to join and AFTER we came back we got a ton of responses. Funny how that works, eh? So next year we might organize a Scimun Double Century where riders can register, raise money for a good cause, and of course win some sweet prizes.

Ok Go + Treadmills

August 28th, 2006 by geek_goddess

The other day, one of our good friends over at blogger (http://miboul.blogspot.com) found some footage of a homemade music video featuring the song Here it goes again by Ok Go, and treadmills. Yes, treadmills. I know it doesnt sound too exciting, but you HAVE to see this video! These 4 guys pulled this off perfectly, and I dont even know where they got the idea for it in the first place. I mean, how often are you sitting there thinking “…hmmmm, I wonder what I can do if I take a bunch of treamills and put them together.” I know it’s crossed my mind a couple times (yeah… right), but I’m sure glad these guys actually went through with it. I dont want to steal his thunder, so here’s the link to the video on his blog. Amazing music video!

Eon8 + the end of the world

August 22nd, 2006 by geek_goddess

Eon8

Not too long ago, a mysterious website appeared and got everyone freaked out. That website was Eon8.com. The details to me right now are a little hazy, but basically, eon8 never made any claims of terrorist activity, but for some reason everyone jumped to the conclusion that eon8 was linked to terrorist activity. The site was kind of strange though, with things like “your activity has been recorded” followed by your IP address and what type of browser you were using, as well as the referring website from which you came. Of course, all this is easy to do, and all websites have this kind of information at their fingertips; they just don’t let you know about it. In the end, all of this craziness proved to be nothing more than a show put on by some clever fellow down in Florida to prove how whacked out we’ve all become over “terrorism.” Now that infamous site is for sale. It’s probably been on sale for a while, but I don’t think anyone is going to jump on this purchase anytime soon. Sure, it was a mega hit at one time, but unless the site is linked to terrorist activity again, I doubt it will see that kind of traffic anymore. The real question that still remains unanswered is this…what’s the deal with eon5.com??? It’s just plain freaky looking, in a not so freaky looking kind of way, if you catch my drift. Weird…

Segway + Redesign

August 15th, 2006 by Damien

The New SegwayRemember those crazy, upright, self-balancing, obnoxious, people transporters that were suppose to revolutionize the world for those of us who were too lazy to even walk? Yeah, that’s right, I’m talking about the Segway. Well, yesterday the makers of the original Segway revealed a new redesigned Segway that they say will be even easier to use. New features include a wireless key and an alarm system. The biggest improvement however, is the steering. Instead of turning the handlebars, the rider just leans left or right to steer on the new Segway. They had to change the steering system because too many people were falling flat on their faces from making quick turns while moving faster than a snails pace. Maybe now the Segway can finally revolution the world for those of us who like to move as little as possible!

+ Power Wheelin +

August 14th, 2006 by Damien

Remember Power Wheels as a kid? Well these guys are bringing their childhood memories back up to speed by taking thier power wheels down hills, and it’s amazing what you can do on a power wheel while its moving so quickly. I think they might have done something to the engine too, because they seem to be moving really quick across level ground. Dont try this at home kids!

Here’s a link to the video

Britney Spears + HUH!?

August 7th, 2006 by UniZip

Breaking news, Brittney Spears feels like she’s been missing out on life, in particular the “things” and “the things going on.” She also feels like she’s behind, “or something.” I dont know if Britney is wasted, high, or just plain simple. Her husband/baby’s father Kevin Federline, aka K-Fed actually sounds normal, and somewhat well put together. +1 for K-Fed. I wont spoil the rest of the movie for you, so just watch it. HUH!?
